Directives:
- Define autoscaling policies using `ScaledObject` CRDs targeting Deployments or StatefulSets with explicit `minReplicaCount: 0` (scale-to-zero) and `maxReplicaCount` limits.
- For queue-based workers (AWS SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka), configure scalers with sensible `queueLength` or `lagThreshold` targets.
- For HTTP workloads, pair KEDA with Prometheus scalers: trigger scaling based on rate of incoming 2xx/5xx requests or p95 latency thresholds.
- Implement a controlled scale-down cooldown period (`cooldownPeriod: 300`) to prevent pod flapping during fluctuating traffic spikes.
- Use `TriggerAuthentication` CRDs paired with AWS IAM Roles for Service Accounts (IRSA) rather than hardcoded credentials in ScaledObject definitions.
